Point Prim Lighthouse Built in 1846, this round, brick building was P.E.I.'s first lighthouse. It is open in the summer months to visitors, who can climb up to the 60 foot high light, take guided tours or picnic in the grounds. There is a restaurant, gift shop and art gallery nearby. Indian Head Lighthouse This octagonal lighthouse has guided ships into Summerside's busy harbour since 1930. Located out in the harbour, it is connected to the mainland by a stone breakwater that is underwater at high tide and should not be used. The lighthouse is best viewed from Summerside's waterfront. Cape Bear Lighthouse Open to the public from mid June to mid September, this lighthouse rises 12.2 metres in height. The lighthouse is located at Cape Bear, in the middle of a wood. East Point Lighthouse One of the first lighthouses on the island, this 67 foot tall lighthouse was built in 1867 and is located at the most north-east point of P.E.I.
