Malpeque Lighthouse

Located near the entrance to Malpeque bay, this lighthouse stands in a farmer's field surrounded by cottages.

Port Borden Pier Lighthouse

Built in the 1970's, this lighthouse is located at the end of a long, off-limits pier. The light stands 8.5 metres tall, and is considered best viewed from the edge of the town.

This is PEI's tallest lighthouse still in use. Visitors can climb to the top or see the museum which features the history of lighthouses and various artifacts. There is also a guesthouse here and a fine restaurant famous for its lobster and chowder.

Cape Bear Lighthouse

Open to the public from mid June to mid September, this lighthouse rises 12.2 metres in height. The lighthouse is located at Cape Bear, in the middle of a wood. There is a very high bank here; please keep safely away from it.

Point Prim Lighthouse

Built in 1846, this round, brick building was P.E.I.'s first lighthouse. It is open in the summer months to visitors, who can climb up to the 60 foot high light, take guided tours or picnic in the grounds. There is a restaurant, gift shop and art gallery nearby.

Borden-Calreton Range Lighthouse Front & Rear

Built in 1917, this pair of lighthouses are age-worn but still an interesting site. There is an excellent view of Confederation Bridge and the Port Borden Pier lighthouse from the front lighthouse.

Grand Tracadie Lighthouse

Built in 1876, the open-framework wood tower rises 26 feet above the ground. Locateed on the west side of the narrow mouth of Tracadie Bay, the lighthouse was deactivated in the 1920's.

Indian Head Lighthouse

This octagonal lighthouse has guided ships into Summerside's busy harbour since 1930. Located out in the harbour, it is connected to the mainland by a stone breakwater that is underwater at high tide and should not be used. The lighthouse is best viewed from Summerside's waterfront.

Wrights Range Front and Rear Lighthouses

The rear range lighthouse, situated on private property, stands at an impressive 9.8 metres, while the smaller front range light is 3.7 metres tall. Both lights can be seen from most waterfront locations around Victoria.

Summerside Outer Range Lighthouse

Constructed in 1991, this range light is unusual because of its wooden structure. Standing at 9 metres tall, the range is located on the west side of Summerside Harbour.

Victoria Seaport Lighthouse Museum

Located in P.E.I.'s second-oldest lighthouse, this museum's exhibts include navigational aids from the 1920s, including the lighthouse's main lamp. Visitors can climb the tower for an excellent view of the harbour.

Brighton Beach Lighthouses

Built in 1890, the Brighton Beach Front Range lighthouse casts its light directly onto the entrance of Charlottetown Harbour. The Rear Lighthouse, built in 1969, sits on an adjacent private site, which is closed to the public. Both lighthouses are closed to public access.

North Cape Lighthouse

Located at the north-west tip of P.E.I., this lighthouse has guided ships since 1867. The white, octaganal lighthouse is surrounded with fencing for security reasons.

Leards Range Front & Palmers Range Rear Lighthouse

Close to Victoria Provincial Park, this lighthouse is unique as it has two lights, each set in a different direction. The lighthouse is 10.7 m (12 yd) high. Open to the public in the summer.

Cape Tyron Lighthouse

perched on cliffs at the end of a farmer's field, there is no public access to this lighthouse. The white lighthouse was built in 1905. WARNING: the rocks around the Tyron Lighthouse are extremely trecherous; do not attempt to approach from the water, or get too close to the cliff's edge.

East Point Lighthouse

One of the first lighthouses on the island, this 67 foot tall lighthouse was built in 1867 and is located at the most north-east point of P.E.I. From June 16 to August 30 tours are available of the octagonal structure, which is open to visitors until mid September.

Seacow Head Lighthouse

The bright red top to this lighthouse adds a cheery note to one of the Maritime's oldest wooden lighthouses. Built in 1864, the light stands 18.3 metres (70 feet) tall amongst a rugged costal setting. Please stay back from the bank and cliff edges.

Wood Islands Lighthouse

This lighthouse was built in 1876, from the top of the 54ft tower it is possible to see the busy fishing port, the ferry to Nova Scotia and beautiful coastal scenery. Visit the keeper's quarters and the working light.
