County Line Road- Anne's Land

Once used for rum-running, this secluded road pasts farmland and hills before climbing a step magnetic hill to reveal a vista of the Gulf of St. Lawrence. The road runs south for 4.5 km from Rte. 103 to Rte. 101 near Irishtown. On border of Queen's and Prince's counties.

County Line Road

A stand of hardwood trees is to be found midway down this tree-lined, canopied road. Road is portion of Route 235 beginning at Caledonia at its intersection with Rt. 315. Ends at interscetion with Rt. 317.

John Joe Road (Hackney Road)

Named after two different settlers, John Joe Gallant and Mr. Hackney, this road passes by alternating woodlands and farms, while wildflowers run alongside. The trail runs north from the Kelly Road (Rte 142) to meet Rte. 136 near Mill River Resort.

Millman Road

This rural road is bordered by farmland and wildflowers as it runs south from Rte. 3 just east of New Perth to meet the Mellish Road. The road goes past a road stream and is excellent for winter sports. In use by farm vehicles.

Perry Road

Heavily populated with flora and fauna, this road is bordered by trees, lady slippers and Chanterelle mushrooms, which should not be picked. The road's turbulent political history has resulted in its 'dog's leg', or large crook, halfway down the road. Good for walking or driving, Perry road runs south from Rte. 239 near St. Patrick's for 2 km to meet Rte. 228.

Princetown-Warburton Road

Consisting of one of P.E.I.'s oldest roads, the Princetown-Warburton road steeply climbs several hills and is bordered by hedgerows and trees. Take Warburton Road south From Rte. 239 near Millvale to Fredericton Station where it joins the Princetown Road.

MacArthur Road

This twisting road winds uphill and back down bordered by stands of trees, including maples, birches, pines. Abandoned homesteads and apple orchards run alongside, and the trail passses by the century-old MacArthur Cemetery. On route 244, this road begins 700 m north of Highway 1 near Strathgartney Provincial Park and ends near Elmwood.

Junction Road Scenic Drive

Located in central Queen's county, this road is adorned with wildflowers and old stands of hard and softwood trees. Look out for Spooky Hollow, rummored to be a place of supernatural events. The road is good for walking or driving at only 1.7 km, and is part of Route 227. Junction Road proper begins 420 metres from Rte. 225's intersecting with Route 227 and runs northwest.

McKenna-Appin Road

The woods running paraell to this road provide a wonderful canopy, while fireweeds and ferns grow along its base. The Appin Road (Rte. 237) reaches almost to Rte. 249. The McKenna Road runs from the Appin Road west to Rte. 246.

Blue Heron Scenic Drive covers some of the most popular areas on P.E.I as it circles Anne's Land and Charlotte's Land. Visit Cavendish, Winsole North and Rustico, Victoria, Darnley and Charlottetown.

New Harmony Road

This canopied road resembles a green tunnel as it passes by a demonstration woodlot (visitors welcome) and through the once populous farming community of New Harmony. The road's remote location made it ideal for prohibition era rum-running. The New Harmony Road (Rte. 303) runs from Greenvale Road to the Tarantum Road (Rte. 304).

Glen Road

This red clay heritage road runs through a large green glen which was once a propserous farming community. At the eastern end of the road dwells P.E.I.'s largest tree, a giant American elm. Glen Road (Rte. 303) runs west from Route 302 through Glencorradale to the New Harmony Road.

Millman Road

Best travelled from north to south, this road saw the community of Irishtown grow up alongside its tree-canopied run. These trees still stand, and include an abundance of apple blossom trees which attract a large number of birds in spring. The road starts at Rte. 231 in Burlington, and runs 2 km to Rte. 101 in Irishtown.

Kings Byway Scenic Drive

This highway circles the coast of eastern P.E.I, and passes many scenic towns and landscapes. Start at Charlottetown and visit Murray Harbour and many other communities before leaving the province by the ferry at Wood Islands.

Currie-Farrar Road

Named after local settlers, these two roads features a variety of roadside plants and scenery. The Currie road begins at Route 249 in Green Bay, and runs to Rte 237, where the Farrar Road begins.

Walls Road

This road crosses the dunk river amongst rich woodlands filled wildflowers. The area is well populated with small animals. Very rarely used, this road is excellent for nature walks or cross-country skiing. Located west of Scales Pond Park (Freetown), the road runs south from Rte. 113 to Rte. 111 for aproximately 1.5 km.

Jack's Road

This winding trail, best for walking, has canopies provided by surrounding hardwood trees and is bordered by mosses. A stream runs nearby and there is plenty of wildlife present. Runs from Rte. 1 in Flat River to Rte. 207 for a distance of 4.1 miles.

The longest national highway in the world, the main route of the Trans-Canada stretches 7604 km (4725 mi) from St. John's, NF, to Victoria, BC. Along the route, it passes through all ten provinces.
