    This famous beach features miles of white sand beaches surrounded by red soil cliffs and dunnes. The water is considered the warmest in P.E.I., and is approximately 15 to 20 degrees during July and August.

    Cedar Dunes Provincial Park
    Cedar Dunes Provincial Park is located in the West Point area south of O'Leary. The park provides supervised beach swimming, children's activities and a staff naturalist that provides guided nature walks. Explore Canada's only functioning lighthouse in an inn. The West Point Lighthouse also houses a museum displaying artifacts and photographs that document the history of Prince Edward Island lighthouses.

    Basin Head Provincial Park
    Basin Head is a day use park featuring a supervised white sand beach, play area, food on-site and washroom and shower facilities. The park is home to the Basin Head Fisheries Museum. Open from mid June to the end of September. Pets are permitted on leash.

    Lord Selkirk Provincial Park
    Located on Orwell Bay at Eldon, this park has camping facilities and an unsupervised beach. There is also a swimming pool, miniature golf, a nine-hole golf course at the Park, which is home to many events such as a series of Friday night variety concerts which feature traditional music.

    Prince Edward Island National Park

    P.E.I.'s only national park extends 40 km along the island's north shore from Cavendish to Dalvay, and also includes 6 km along the western tip of the Greenwich Peninsula. Found within Prince Edward Island National Park of Canada are sand dunes, barrier islands and sand pits, beaches, sandstone cliffs, wetlands and forests. The park is home to the endangered Piping Plover and Green Gables and Dalvay-by-the-Sea. Admission fees apply; open year-round.
